Join us for a keynote from Professor Mark Lawler, an internationally recognised leader in digital health, cancer data and policy. In this seminar, he will explore how transdisciplinary approaches can help tackle cancer inequalities, influence policy and improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.
Professor Lawler will discuss:
· Cancer inequalities: How data can help identify and address disparities in cancer care.
· Policy and patient empowerment: How initiatives such as the European Cancer Patient’s Bill of Rights and the European Code of Cancer Practice are driving change.
· Data-driven innovation: How digital health and big data are shaping the future of cancer research and care.
About The Keynote Speaker
Professor Mark Lawler is Professor of Digital Health at the Patrick G Johnston Centre for Cancer Research at Queen’s University Belfast. He is internationally recognised for his work in cancer data, digital health and policy, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for patients and tackling inequalities in cancer care.
He has led major European and international initiatives, including the European Cancer Patient’s Bill of Rights, the European Code of Cancer Practice and the European Cancer Pulse. He is also Scientific Director of DATA-CAN, the UK’s Health Data Research Hub for Cancer, and co-leads major programmes using data to improve cancer outcomes.
