Celebrate Women’s History Month: A Community Composting Event

Join us on March 14, 2026 at 12:00 PM (Eastern Time) at the Frank White Memorial Garden for a fun and casual community composting event! Let's come together to honor women’s contributions and learn about HotBox Composting. Bring your questions, your energy, and let’s make a positive impact on our environment while celebrating an important month. See you there!

Info: When folks arrive be sure to checkin with one of our stewards so we can take note on who attended the event.

Info: Visitors will learn about the history of Community Composting in NYC and get an inside look into how we started our initiative at Frank White Memorial Garden through campaigning.

Info: Participants will be able to participate in the process of HotBox Composting and learn about the 6 steps to breaking down food scraps from beginning to end. In addition to being a part of other fun activities being highlighted in the garden during the duration of the event.

Info: During this time we will be breaking down and cleaning up work stations. Then close out with final reflections.
