CAVEMAN & THE BANSHEE (Nanaimo)
Imagine Nina Hagen and Lemmy backed by Public Enemy’s drum machine on a heavy metal-meets-techno acid trip. Caveman & The Banshee have steadily toured across much of Canada since 2021, destroying stages alongside such diverse acts as Mudhoney, Bob Log III, Pink Mountaintops, Devours, Dead Bob, Forbidden Dimension, Fucked Up, Frontline Assembly, and Willie Thrasher. They will continue to do so in 2026 and beyond. Influences include: Suicide, Atari Teenage Riot, Betty Davis, K*ll ‘Em All, Goat, 70s KISS, Plastic Ono Band, Parliament-Funkadelic and speed metal.
CHRONIC FATIGUE (Vancouver)
“Punks are by nature crazier than almost everyone in music except possibly the Swedish black metal headbangers, so Chronic Fatigue … sounds like the best parts of the genre before Blink-182, Green Day, and the Offspring ruined everything. (Well, not exactly everything—we still got Comeback Kid, the Refused, Anchoress, and Rancid after the fact, but you get the general idea.) Whether by design or accident, Chronic Fatigue seems like a band that was born to record for Dischord, SST, or Dutch East India Trading.”
