Fun Facts: January birthstone is Garnet, a group of silicate minerals known for their vibrant colours, most famously deep red, but also green, orange, pink, & blue, used as gemstones and industrial abrasives since the Bronze Age, they symbolize protection, love, and inner fire, often linked to myths like Hades and Persephone, where the pomegranate seeds (garnets) bind her to the underworld, creating a deep, powerful connection that can be both protective and dangerous. The flower of January is the Carnation, symbolizing love, fascination, and distinction, often paired with the snowdrop for hope. Carnations come in many colors, each with unique meanings (red for love, white for pure love/luck, pink for gratitude), are known for their ruffled petals, sweet scent & long-lasting blooms. Carnations, particularly white ones, are sometimes associated with funerals and mourning in some cultures, making them a natural fit for death and mourning.
