Catch the Light! Beginners Photography Summer Course

This summer, the Photography Club KU Leuven once again organizes its photography courses in English. We offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Photography courses, as well as an Analog Photography series and a Post-Advanced Photo Art Academy.
All courses are taught in small groups with a limited number of participants and guided by multiple instructors, allowing you to discover different photographic styles, creative approaches, and artistic perspectives. Across 10 indoor and outdoor classes and workshops, you will explore a variety of genres and techniques while actively applying what you learn.
Beginner Group 📅 Mondays, 18:00 – 19:30
In this beginner series of 10 classes and several workshops, we focus on the essential foundations of photography, including:
Camera basics: ISO, aperture, and shutter speed, Sharpness and depth of field
Perspective, framing, and composition
Understanding and working with light
Aesthetics and visual storytelling in photography
These fundamentals are applied in practice through genres such as:
Portrait photography
Landscape photography
Travel photography
Practical Information
Enrollment fee: €30 (students) / €40 (non-students)
