About this Event
Grab your favourite people and join me for this fabulous, fun workshop!
You'll have the choice of several moulds to cast from, and each person will be given all the supplies they need, from casting mix, water, dyes and paint, to make a totally one-of-a-kind piece of decor.
We'll spend 3 hours together on Saturday, casting our vessels, letting them dry and harden, and then painting our creations. I will have melted beeswax and tealights on hand so that we can make candles or tealights for your vessel!
The beeswax for these candles comes from a farm, not 10 minutes from Studio on the Farm. Now that's local! It smells amazing, with a gentle, delightful toasted honey scent.
These handmade vessels are. multi-purpose. Use them for tea lights, holding jewelry, pencils or art supplies, burning incense, your rock collection... You name it! I don't recommend eating out of them or using them for food, even though the eco resin is non-toxic. (and a sustainable blend of natural resin and gypsum - aka plaster)
Studio on the Farm is a welcoming space to get creative! Located on a small farm in Roslin, Ontario and owned by local artist Jenny Pries. Make yourself at home! Hot and cold drinks are provided. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions! Thank you for supporting local arts events!
Special safety note: With any flame, please use caution and common sense. Burn your candles on a flat, heat-safe surface, and never burn longer than 2-3 hours at a time. Do not leave candles unattended, and keep them away from pets and children. When in doubt, blow it out! Safety first!
