Carter & Keiser: A Night of Song & Strings

Some reunions just feel right. Michael Carter & Jason Keiser have been crossing paths on stage for over a decade, their shared love for jazz, country, and great storytelling through music always bringing them back together. Keiser, a virtuoso guitarist praised for his "imagination and wide musical net" (Andrew Gilbert), has been a key part of past Vintage Noise performances while also forging his own path as a solo artist and bandleader of The New Acoustic Collective. On February 22, these two long-time collaborators reunite for a night of crooning vocals, intricate guitar work, and songs that stand the test of time.

Michael, described by The Mercury News as “a latter-day crooner who sings in the style of Sinatra”, brings the warmth and sophistication of jazz’s golden age, while Jason’s genre-blending guitar work bridges jazz, bluegrass, and beyond. Whether interpreting a Great American Songbook classic or a country-infused ballad, they find the rhythm of the moment, crafting a performance that feels both spontaneous and timeless.

Joined by David Boyden on vioin, the trio delivers a sound that moves effortlessly between intimate, stripped-down elegance and lively, swinging energy.
