Carpentry for Beginners (Monday Eve Series) Oct 2026
You’ll build a mock-up stud wall frame, practise measuring, squaring, cutting and joining timber, and learn how to work with plasterboard (GIB). We’ll also cover hanging pictures and shelves securely and level, cutting and fitting timber mouldings, and working with angles.
To put your new skills into practice, you’ll finish by building a planter box to take home. Depending on the group’s experience and progress, we’ll also cover fitting common door hardware such as hinges and handles.
There’ll be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about your own projects and share ideas and experiences with fellow workshoppers.
You’ll learn:
- Working with timber and angles
- Working with plasterboard (GIB)
- Hanging pictures and shelves securely
- Cutting and installing timber mouldings
