About this Event

Summary

With the Powers of Attorney Act 2023 passed and plans for it to be in force soon, this session will focus on how the new process will work, what the changes from the current LPAs are, how you can add value to the service you provide, and encourage people not to do it themselves. The session will then move on to discuss some recent Court of Protection decisions and a social care update.

This session will cover:

  • The Powers of Attorney Act 2023 - how digital LPAs will work
  • Adding value to the digital process with drafting tips
  • The role of the certificate provider following TA v The Public Guardian [2023] EWCOP 63
  • Review of important Court of Protection decisions
  • social care update

The training session comes with Caroline's comprehensive notes, which serve as a great resource for your practice.

The talk will start at 2pm following lunch and a chance to network from 1.30pm.

Please note this will be at Leonardo Hotel Brighton Station BN1 4DJ.

There are various car parks around, the nearest is Brighton Railway Station Car Park, Stroudley Road, BN1 4DJ (but this can fill up quickly).

You may also wish to try Churchill Square BN1 2RU , Russell Road BN1 2DX, Regency Square BN1 2FG or Brighton Theatre BN1 1US.
