About the Speakers
Rebecca Manankil, Sound Bath Mediation
Rebecca Manankil is a Multi-Disciplinary Alternative Wellness Practitioner based in the unceded territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. She has been serving her community through Movement and Mindfulness since 2019.
As a caregiver for her own father in the early part of his battle with ALS, Rebecca deeply understands all the facets of what it is to show up for a loved one with health challenges. Being a caregiver is the role that asks you to operate from a space of deep love and deep service. Demanding on every level - mind, body and spirit, caregivers are humbly asked for the strength that can only be found in helping another find ease in their hardest times.
In this session, Rebecca is honoured to hold space for fellow caregivers through the mindfulness practices of Breathwork and Sound Healing meditation. She will guide you on how you can use the breath as an intentional tool for stress management and emotional regulation; while the sound healing meditation will give you a moment of pause, rest and restoration. Rebecca hopes to provide you with techniques that will improve your own self care tool kit as you selflessly care for those who need you most.
