Cardiac Connection-Poems from the Heart

Welcome to the Cardiac Connection-Poems from the Heart event! Join us on Wed Feb 20, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Heart Wellness Center. Poetry has the power to improve health by providing an outlet to process emotions, reduce stress, improve mood, and boost brain function. These outcomes help us mental health conditions, like depression and anxiety. Engaging with poetry also connects us to others, past and present, who share similar experiences. Studies also show it can help reduce pain and increase hope in patients facing heart disease and other chronic illnesses. Join us as we explore poetry through your own writing, or simply enjoying the words of others.

Cardiac Connection is a monthly community group that supports people of all ages who have experienced a cardiovascular event such as a heart attack or stroke, had surgery related to the heart or are at risk for heart disease. Relevant topics and speakers vary each month. Bring your lunch and a friend!

In addition, we offer encouragement and lifestyle improvement activities. You may also connect with others who have had similar experiences. If you or a loved one are interested, please join us.
