Captain Bulkhead and the Portholes are a quartet of grizzled veterans from the St. Louis music scene. The motley crew: Dave Farver (El Monstero, Superjam) vocals, sax / Pete Ruthenburg (Ralph Butler, Dangerous Kitchen) vocals, keyboards / Eric Grossman (K’s Choice, Javier Mendoza) vocals, bass / Joe Meyer (Superjam, Mama’s Pride) drums. The group deftly and artfully perform “yacht rock”, featuring a number of songs by Hall and Oates, Christopher Cross, Steely Dan and Ambrosia. These saucy sailors are also known to detour into less explored waters with the Beatles, Traffic, and Dave Mason, as well as originals. All have travelled the world in various renegade outfits, returning with the scars of battle, and the experience of having raised a tankard of ale with scallywags and noblemen alike. The group endeavors to bring to the mind visions of sun-dappled remote islands, palm trees, warm breezes, and exotic libations sipped from a coconut shell.
