Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Join us—with or without a date—for this RETROspective of How to Get a Date and other vintage classroom films from the 1940s to the 1960s that offer helpful advice from the dating world. How do you attract a date in the first place? How do you know what activities to do and how to behave once you’ve got one? And how exactly do you know when it’s true love? Learn all this and more!
Join us in the Grand Hall to enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from the Key Bistro. Visit resource tables to see Valentines-related images from the MHS collections, learn about some of Missouri’s historic “power couples,” write a love note to your favorite object or story in the galleries, and make your own vintage-inspired valentine. At 6:30pm, stay in the Grand Hall and feel free to keep eating and crafting while we screen vintage classroom films that offer advice on dating and love.
