About the Class
In partnership with Gaining Ground, Crabtree Farms is hosting a three part autumn-inspired food preservation and cooking series “Cultivating Community at Crabtree: Preserving Autumn Harvests”.
Join us for an afternoon of autumnal canning! Learn the basics of canning and take home a delicious jar of apple butter to enjoy over biscuits, toast, oatmeal, etc. This is a hands-on cooking class. We will feature fresh apples from a local orchard.
This class is free to the community thanks to a generous grant in partnership with Gaining Grounds.
About the Facilitator
Elizabeth Agee managed an organic pear and apple orchard for 5 years and is a canning aficionado. She loves capturing the season’s bounty through food preservation techniques and experimenting with different flavors and recipes. She currently works as Community Food and Land Access Coordinator at Crabtree Farms and is excited to share her canning knowledge with the Chattanooga community.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
Please Note: This class is offered as a donation-based program. All proceeds benefit both Crabtree Farms and Gaining Ground. $10 suggested donation. Thank you for your support!
