Can You See Me? Making Your Presence Known

Many of us struggle to be seen and heard in our careers. Anyone speak up in a meeting only to be ignored until a man suggests the same thing? This workshop will discuss ways to improve your visibility, not only in meetings but throughout the company to ensure your reputation is public and accurate. Visibility increases your chances for promotions, new work experiences and a more robust network. In addition to a presentation, breakouts will be included to allow you to brainstorm ways to be visible in your specific circumstances.

In this session you will learn techniques to be heard more consistently and identify methods to be known, even if you're an introvert.

About the Speaker

Cathy Meyn was a director at Northrop Grumman responsible for establishing and maintaining a focus on program effectiveness as a major corporate priority. She started her career as a software engineer and led advanced product development programs. She produced winning results in product development, technical and program management, and marketing in chaotic, fast-growth defense and commercial companies. She has a BS in Computer Science and Psychology from SDSU. She has a Program Management certification from SDSU and the Executive Program for Scientists and Engineers from UC San Diego. She has led multiple workshops at SWE Annual Conferences throughout the US and is a liifetime SWE member.

The event will be hybrid, taking place at Westpac Wealth Partners (5280 Carroll Canyon Road). When registering, please indicate if you plan to attend in person or virtually. Space is limited. Additional details (room, optional zoom link) will be sent out the day of the event.

Price: Free for SWE members, $10 for non-members. RSVP required.
