Against the glittering backdrop of 1920s Hollywood, the film world is turning upside down as silent movies give way to sound. Caught in the whirlwind are charismatic star Don Lockwood, his quick-witted partner Cosmo, and aspiring actress Kathy Selden, whose unexpected rise sparks romance, rivalry, and plenty of comic mishaps along the way.
