Learn how to write gorgeously swirly modern calligraphy with your tutor Claire Gould, of ‘By Moon & Tide’. You’ll have fun getting to grips with a dip pen and copperplate nib in this friendly and relaxed calligraphy workshop. From initial scratches and swirls you’ll soon be learning how to write beautiful letters, all in the space of a couple of hours!

Calligraphy practice and example sheets
Dip pen and nib to take home
If you have your own watercolours please bring them along so you can add a little colour to your creations! If you don’t have any, basic watercolour palettes will be provided on the day.”
Our workshops are fun, informal and a great creative experience for you and/or a friend. Perfect for absolute beginners who want to learn the art of beautiful writing. Everyone has some personal tuition on the day as well as the opportunity to watch demos and ask questions as you learn!
About your tutor:
Claire Gould is the owner of ‘By Moon & Tide’, a calligraphy studio on the edge of the Lake District. She’s inspired by the world around her and has been writing and selling calligraphy for 18 years.

Refreshments – Hot drinks and biscuits are ‘on-tap’ throughout the session and lunch is available to buy from our on-site Cafe.
FREE entry to the Quaker Tapestry Museum for all attendees on the days of the workshop.
Please note that the workshop room is located on the first floor, with access to the room by a flight of stairs (no lift) however we may be able to move to the ground floor location if that would mean you can attend. Please contact our office on 01539 722975 to discuss.

Cancellation policy
As the Quaker Tapestry Museum is a registered charity and the events and workshop programme is reliant on ticket income, certain events are dependent on a minimum number of participants in order to proceed. If we cancel a workshop you will receive a full refund.
If you wish to cancel your place a full refund will be given if more than 10 days notice is given, 50% refund if 5 to 10 days notice is given and no refund if less than 5 days notice is given.
