About this Event

Bunga rampai is a fragrant floral arrangement often used to “activate” a space by simultaneously filling (ngiseni) the space with scents in anticipation of the arrival of guests. The bunga rampai complements and contributes to the overall mood and vibe of an event without being the main centre of attraction which is reminiscent of the role that isen-isen plays in the aesthetics of a batik piece.

In this session, storyteller Hafiz Rashid will share facts about the bunga rampai as well as stories inspired by it. After a quick demonstration, participants will create their own bunga rampai and bunga rampai-inspired artworks with natural flower pigments!
