Happy New Year to all of our regular volunteers!
Time:
We always start work at 11:00, so please try to arrive 15 minutes early.
Place:
We meet at the entrance to Dollymount Strand, just past Royal Dublin Golf Club, at our storage container behind the Happy Out Café.
Duration: 2 hours.
Equipment:
Litter pickers, bag hoops, rubbish bags and high-visibility vests are provided. Please remember to bring your own work gloves. Hand sanitiser will be available before and after the clean-up.
Safety information:
Remember not to touch any rubbish with your bare hands. Please do not venture onto the rocks at the Bull Wall as they are very slippery, uneven and unsafe.
Work Areas:
If we have enough volunteers, we will send work parties to the beach, the sand dunes, the inner shore of the island, and the causeway. We will carry out an inspection the day before in order to check which areas need to be prioritised.
DCC:
Dublin City Council provides a tractor and trailer plus driver to haul away and dispose of the litter we collect.
Weather:
It will be cool and cloudy with a moderate breeze from the west. Some light rain is forecast. The temperature will be between 4 C and 8 C approx.

Applying sunscreen is always advisable. Wearing wellies or boots is a good idea. Remember to bring a rain jacket with you, just in case!
Tide:
High water will be at 10:46 - height 3.11m.
This means that the tide will be fully risen for the entire duration of our clean-up.

We hope you can join us on Saturday.
Many thanks,
The Bull Island Action Group
