Southampton is building. New housing, commercial space, infrastructure. But growth doesn’t have to mean grey.

Across Hampshire and the South Coast, architects, landscape architects and developers are already proving that green roofs, living walls, biodiverse courtyards and rewilded public spaces aren’t luxuries — they are critical approaches that can reconnect people and the environment, increasing ecological resilience.

The event will include short talks by urban development professionals, natural world experts, community groups and others with a role in shaping our city environment. They will showcase inspiring work that welcomes nature into urban spaces to inform our reimagining of Southampton. Following the talks, we will discuss together what this means for the vision of Southampton, its people and wildlife. To participate in the event, you will need to register for a ticket so we can make sure we have an up-to-date list of those who plan on attending. If you wish to register another attendee, this must be done separately using a different email address. This is for capacity purposes. We encourage all attendees that are ill or showing symptoms of illness to stay home and to cancel your Eventbrite ticket if you are no longer able to join the event.
