Building Bridges Garden Club: Fall Planting
About this Event
It's still hot out but it's time to start thinking about what you'll harvest in the fall. We'll consider cool weather crops such as lettuce, kale, collards, turnips, carrots, spinach, beets, chard, arugula, cilantro and dill. We'll talk about how and when to plant seeds to give them a good start.
This 7th event in the series will be guided by Fred KIMANI Anku Kenner of Gardening and Beats. You don’t need to have come to any of our previous events to enjoy this one.
We'll be at THEARC Farm (1901 Mississippi Ave SE), where we grow food to give away at Food and Farm Fridays every week.
Bring your gardening questions! We'll make sure we get to all of them.
This is a free club for gardeners and soon-to-be gardeners (even if you’re just growing on your windowsill) in Ward 8 (and elsewhere) to meet each other, get your hands dirty, learn some tricks, get some free plants, and have fun. Everyone is welcome.
Refreshments included.
If foul weather is in the forecast, check the email you used for registration to see if we need to change our plans. The event will be outdoors. Please dress in clothes that will keep you comfortable and you don’t mind getting dirty.
