About this Event

Chamber Music City’s inaugural season begins with a dazzling blend of innovation, tradition and virtuosity as new works harmonize with timeless standards. Founding Artistic Director Ji Hye Jung joins forces with clarinetist Jose Franch Ballester and cellist Clancy Newman to present the world premiere of David Bruce’s “States of Glory,” a bold take on American folk tunes that reflects on themes of freedom and hope in the midst of America’s 250th birthday. Pianist Gloria Chien dazzles in Clara Schumann’s “Nocturne,” then joins Franch Ballester and Newman in Brahms’ Clarinet Trio, capping off an evening of celebration at Nashville’s Clementine.
