About this Event

What did Bristol look like when dinosaurs lived here? Are those remnants of ancient volcanic eruptions in Weston-super-Mare? And how might water in Hotwells help provide geothermal energy in the future?

Join us for a spectacular series of lightning lectures from leading researchers from the School of Earth Sciences. Discover what geology can tell us about life past, present and future; the importance of mining in this history of Bristol life; and the cutting-edge research that leads to new energy resources and helps us imagine a more sustainable future.

Exploration Zone

You can also visit Earth Sciences at their interactive stand to discover more about research, partnerships and student initiatives, and to meet the people behind the work. You can find them at the Exploration Zone in Wills Memorial Building between 10 am and 2:30 pm.
