Brittany Receveur, MSSW, CSW, Director of Population Health and Quality Improvement at Family Health Centers, Mother “Tammy” was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of 40. She was cancer-free for 19 years before her Breast Cancer returned with a vengeance at the age of 59. She fought bravely for a year until she succumbed to the disease on October 2, 2023.
My mom was always so proactive with her health, and her getting screened for Breast Cancer at the age of 40 is how our family had another 19 healthy years with her.
As the Director for Population Health at the Family Health Centers, my mom’s death motivated me to get more mothers their breast cancer screening, so no other children have to go through
losing their mother to such a horrible disease.
