Everyone is welcome who’s interested in diving into creation and further developing his/her/their artistry, building connections with each other and themselves.
What is BOOST about?
Dance:
A diverse curriculum - featured with techniques as contemporary, modern, improvisation, movement exploration, floorwork, partnering to elevate as a dancer and a performer.
Participants can expect 6 days of learning, understanding correlations, discovering movement habits, experiencing the process of creation.
Dancers will have the opportunity to tune in to the musicians as we will collaborate on the closing show.
Drumming:
Besides raising the roof and having a lot of fun playing together we are going to learn simple and more advanced patterns. We dive into music theory to understand the ways of breaking a rhythm.
We will explore dynamic ranges, accents, off beats, ghost notes etc.
We train our ears and coordination by playing different phrases together.
We will compose and memorize sections for the final collab show, when dancers will move and react to our play.
25 hours of dance training/research will allow you to:
Refine technical skills
Expand imagination
Experience the wide range of possibilities of the body
Engage, respect, and respond to that state of openness in oneself and others
Develop an innovative performing method
18 hours of drumming session will guide you through:
Learning basic patterns and cool phrases
Creating textures and dynamic changes
Ability of speed up and slow down
Use of volume and accents
Understanding rhythm breakdowns
Getting into solos and showdown
