Join us at the History Center on Saturday, April 18, at 12pm for a book talk with local author and SUNY Professor, Dr. Mark Ferrara. With 2025 marking the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal completion, Dr. Ferrara will discuss his new work, “The Raging Erie: Life & Labor Along the Erie Canal” (Columbia University Press, 2025), chronicling the lives of the poor and working classes along the canal corridor.
Dr. Mark Ferrara is professor of English at State University of New York. His recent books include “American Community: Radical Experiments in Intentional Living” (2020) and “Living the Food Allergic Life” (2023). Last year, Dr. Ferrara gave over twenty talks on his book at different historical societies, museums, and bookstores across New York. We are excited to welcome this proclaimed author to the History Center!
Dr. Ferrara’s book talk will take place at the History Center (183 Main Street) in our the third-floor ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.
