Book Club: Mary Beards SPQR at Waterstones Crouch End

• Read key works of Italian and Greek canon from the ancient period to the modern times
• Track the influence of Italian and Greek cultures on British authors and artists
• Guest experts will answer your questions on topics such as history, architecture, art, and cinema
• All books in our study group will be in English, but you are more than welcome to read them in Italian or Greek if you prefer

For the coming session we are going to read SPQR authored by Mary Beard. (if you can, purchase the book from Waterstones Crouch End to support the event.)

You don't have to read all of the book to attend. All you need is a passion to learn about Italian and Greek Cultures.

What to expect:

→Have a lively discussion on Ancient Rome

→Learn more about the lingering influence of Rome.

When: Monday 11 May 2026 – 5.30pm to 6:30pm. Afterwards we might head to a bar nearby bar and hang out.

Frequency: Every 2nd Monday of the Month

Cost: FREE (registration required)

** IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR TICKET OR LET US KNOW. Those who sign up and don't show up more than two times without cancelling their tickets before the event starts, won't be able to participate in the future events.
