Arty Crafty Friday

About:

Come along to our adult group art workshops to meet others, practice creative skills, and explore the benefits of art for our mental wellbeing.

Each session, we will pick a different creative project to do. These have previously been mosaic tiling, collaging, jewellery making, paper beads, and much more. See Agenda below for each month's activity.

Each session there will also be the option to do knitting and crocheting. Wool and needles will be provided, but you're welcome to bring any existing projects that you're working on! You don't need to know how to knit or crochet - we'd be happy to teach you.

All classes will be at Bethnal Green Mission Church, with refreshments provided and additional options available from The Beehive cafe.

All classes are free of charge however, if you feel able to do so donations are welcome to help with the running cost of the workshops. All activities are based at beginner level for adults and are for adults to meet together and practice creative activities. All materials are provided and groups are very welcome.

Come though the big grey doors next to The Beehive cafe, and we're straight through in the hall!

When:

Once a month (usually on the last Friday of the month), usually 2-4pm but do check the time on each specific booking.

Info: APPLIQUE TOTE BAGS - We'll be upscaling tote bags with appliqué designs.

Info: A novel start to the New Year! Crafting decorative flowers out of old book pages or coloured paper.

Info: We'll be making Christmas Candle Holders - think small-scale wreaths... with fire! And also having a go at building little wooden houses as cute decorations for the house.

Info: CANDLE HOLDERS with Natural Embellishments and YOYO CHRISTMAS TREES. Join us in upcycling jars into beautiful additions to your table or windowsill now the darker months are setting in and crafting fun stylised Christmas tree decorations.

Info: Join us in starting some Christmas prep early! We'll be making small paper rosettes to decorate tables, gifts and napkins and 3D felt hanging decs with simple stitches, perfect for gifting.

Info: Macrame Wrapped Rainbows. Join us in making these simple yet effective decorations. Perfect as gifts for friends and loved ones or just for yourself! There's always knitting and crochet available too - even if you don't know how, we'll help you learn. This is an adults only craft session.

Info: Frames, buttons and decoupage! Join us in creating decorating and learning how to upcycle frames and jars using everyday items. These can add a touch of colour and pizazz to your home or be great gifts for others.

Info: Embroidery Hoop Craft. This month we'll be showing you multiple ways to create beautiful and practical items using a few simple techniques - appliqué, embroidery or just folding and sticking! There's always knitting and crochet available too - even if you don't know how, we'll help you learn.

Info: Fake Botanicals and Candle Holders. Join us in making spring table decorations and embellishments. All ages and skill levels welcome!

Info: Spring and Easter Crafts. Join us making wind chimes and spring decorations. All ages and skill levels welcome!

Info: We got so into making the items from last month that we didn't get round to doing all of them so we're going to do a repeat - it's PomPoms, French Knitting and YoYos again! Whoop whoop!

Info: Happy New Year! We will be making PomPoms, learning French Knitting and how to make YoYos - not the wooden toy but a type of fabric embellishment that is used for brooches and adorning bags and cards etc. Examples in images above.

HENNA Design
This will be optional for use on your body and also on paper for card making etc. Led by a guest tutor.
