About this Event

Join Thredz.org’s Educate, Empower & Engage Youth Program as we partner with Black Voters Matter to mobilize the Muskegon community in a high-energy, Non-Partisan GOTV (Get Out the Vote) Caravan and Voter Engagement Event!

Together with community organizer Patsy Petty and Muskegon County Renaissance Fellowship President Darwin Smith, we are rallying residents to drive voter turnout for the critical 2024 election.

This event will feature a 30-minute caravan, canvassing, voter registration, phone banking, Beats by Q89 and Soulful Meal provided by Corines Cakes & Catering.

Our youth leaders will be actively participating in this initiative, taking the lead in voter registration and engagement efforts.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Caravan (2:00 PM): The event kicks off at Hackley Park with the Biggest Blackest Bus in America leading the caravan through Muskegon, spreading awareness about the importance of voting.

• Canvassing, Voter Registration & Phone Banking (2:30 PM): Once the caravan arrives at Muskegon Heights High School Academy, participants will engage in canvassing, voter registration, and phone banking to reach eligible voters and share key election information.

• Free Food & Entertainment (3:30 PM): Enjoy music provided by DJ Q89 and free food from Corine’s Cakes and Catering as we come together after the canvassing efforts.

Key Community Leaders Involved:

• Patsy Petty – Community Organizer

• Darwin Smith – President of Muskegon County Renaissance Fellowship

• Jacinda Cason – BVM State Organizing Manager

• Marria McIntosh – President/CEO of Thredz.org
