A interactive participatory space for men to collaborate together, improve their lives and create social action in their communities.
About this Event

https://theblackmensconsortium.com/ is a voluntary peer-led intergenerational group of Black African/Caribbean & Global Majority men who meet weekly to collaborate together to improve their mental health and wellbeing and access to culturally appropriate services.

We use theatre as a tool for community engagement, healing, addressing conflict & social disputes and revealing how the scene can become a space for dialogue, confrontation, organisation & collective transformation.

We use theatre as an interactive and hands-on tool to investigate situations in which our members are denied their basic rights, personally and collectively. We use theatrical debate, through games and scenes, to uncover the many possible alternatives to these real-life challenges. By imagining and rehearsing solutions together onstage, we prepare members to take action offstage. This tool is designed to empower the members to become catalysts for change in their own lives and communities.
