Black Girl Rally 2026
About this Event
Our 2026 Black Girl Rally will feature shorts created by Her Journey Home participants.
Before, during, and after their travels, Her Journey Home participants have been documenting their own journeys. Throughout their preparation and trip to Ghana, they turned the camera on themselves and each other to capture their stories, perspectives, and reflections.
Now that they are home, they’re engaging in an intensive filmmaking process, learning more about storytelling, editing, sound design, and post-production alongside filmmakers and industry professionals. The final outcome will be a short documentary, showcasing their own voices and experiences.
This Black Girl Rally is all about the reveal.
Join us on Friday, October 2, at The John Marshall Ballrooms as each participant debuts her own short documentary, telling the story of her journey from Richmond to Ghana and back home again.
