Black Art Exhibition 🎨 A Celebration of Black Art – Call for Submissions!In honor of Black History Month, The Arts, Hancock County proudly presents our 3rd Annual Black Art Exhibition and Sale this February. This exhibition will celebrate African American culture and showcase the profound impact of Black art on our society and lives.

This Juried Invitational is open to Central Gulf Coast (Mississippi, Alabama & Louisiana) artists 18 and older. Only original works created in the last five (5) years and not previously shown at The Arts, Hancock County will be accepted. All forms of media, including 3D and video, are eligible, with a limit of three pieces per artist for submission and consideration.
All submissions will be reviewed based on the artist's aesthetic and technical skills.
All applicants will be notified regarding acceptance by January 31, 2025
Accepted artwork must be delivered to Hancock Arts on February 4-8 during the hours of operation.

ENTRY DEADLINE: January 24, 2025
NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: January 31, 2025
DROPOFF DATES: February 4 – 8, 2025
INSTALLATION: February 9 -10, 2025
February 12, 5:30 - 8p: Monthly Meeting/SHOW OPENING, AWARDS & RECEPTION
February 12 - March 5: ART SHOW timeframe
March 5 - March 8: ARTWORK PICKED UP
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
All artists must register their participation here. All artwork must be submitted in.JPG format saved at 300 dpi (if using iPhone, send at highest resolution) and must not exceed 2000 pixels in any direction, or MP4 videos that are no longer than one minute in length. Artists may provide up to two separate images for each work submitted.
All photos of submissions must be emailed to [email protected] with Black Arts Submission in the subject line no later than the Jan. 26 deadline.
Artists may submit up to 4 individual works for consideration.
Entry titles must be labeled as such:
First and last name
Title
Medium
Size
Price
Artists may submit an artist statement and price their work(s) for sale if desired, otherwise mark NFS. Hancock Arts, a 501c3 organization, charges 30% commission on all art sales during the show.
