Curious about the incredible wetland species flocking to the Pacific Northwest during fall migration? Join professional naturalist and experienced birder Kate Brown for a relaxed Sunday morning bird walk at the Wiley Slough in Skagit County. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common wetland species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then set out with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can spot! Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!) Species commonly sighted here include diver winter ducks, snow geese, tundra swans, northern harriers and great blue herons.

Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at the Wiley Slough in Skagit County (21961 Wylie Rd, Mount Vernon, WA 98273), which is about a 40 minute drive from downtown Bellingham. The entirety of the trail is completely flat packed dirt/gravel, and there are bathroom facilities at the trailhead. Ages18+

Binocular Donation: If you happen to own any pairs of functional binoculars that you no longer use, we are always accepting donations so that we have quality pairs to loan out to participants, helping us keep birding as accessible as possible for everyone in our community.
