Biophilia is the idea that humans have an innate tendency to connect with the natural world and other living things around us. Yet, the average person spends approximately 90% of their lives indoors and it is easy to feel disconnected.
Susan Harvey will discuss the many benefits of biophilia including improved physical and psychological health, increased productivity, and a better overall sense of well-being. You will learn how you can create a biophilic environment where you live, work, and play. Types of plants to use, as well as basic horticultural design and maintenance of indoor plants, will be discussed.
Susan Harvey is the Founder and President of Plantwerks, Inc. in Newburyport, a full-service interior landscaping company. Founded in 1984 she is celebrating 40 years in business this year.
One, 2-hour presentation: Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
