Big Way Training Camp

The Raw Dogs are putting on a Big Way Training Camp in Lake Wales this November. This is a training event, not a world record qualifying event.
The camp will be jumping from Sunday, Nov. 15 through Saturday, Nov. 21, allowing for weekend travel on either side of the event. We understand that not everyone will be able to attend the full camp.
To jump with the group, you must attend one of the scheduled sunset briefings before your first jump day. Current briefing dates are planned for the following dates at 6pm Eastern:
Saturday evening, Nov. 14
Monday, Nov. 17
Wednesday, Nov. 19
Please verify these dates when making travel plans and make sure you arrive in time for one of the briefings.
Our goal is to build standardized big way CRW technique, including approach, flying, docking, and safely functioning within larger formations. We will use smaller training jumps, ranging from 9-ways to 25-ways, to develop those skills.
Jumpers will only be progressed beyond 9-ways once they have demonstrated the docking quality and formation awareness needed for larger skydives. The size and structure of each day’s jumps will be determined by the organizers based on the training goals of the group and the demonstrated readiness of the participants.
This will not be an open event, and it is not strictly invitational. We will provide a registration form for CRW dogs to submit their experience and confirm whether they meet the requirements for this camp. You will also be asked to confirm that you are physically able to perform up to four jumps per day.
If you are newer to big way CRW, you should plan to arrive as early in the camp as possible. Early attendance will give you the best chance to build the required skills, receive coaching, and demonstrate readiness for larger formations.
Each jumper is responsible for arranging their own canopy for the event. Your wing loading on that canopy must be under 1.30. You should also bring enough lead to adjust your wing loading as needed, up to approximately 1.30–1.33. You also need to arrive prepared to adjust your drag so that you can fly faster or slower as needed.
At the previous November 2025 World Record event, small wingloading adjustments improved the health, consistency, and safety of the formation.
Registration will be the cost of one video jump. Each participant will either volunteer to fly video or contribute toward someone else flying video. No other registration fee will be required. All participants, including organizers, will pay for their own jumps and expenses. This reflects the community-driven approach we are taking with this event.
A $100 deposit will be required to register. This deposit is for your own use toward your jumps at the event; we are simply holding it to confirm participation and protect the event from last-minute flakery.
