UTC-05:00Location
Jackson County Public Library | Sylva, NC
During this 1 hour talk at the Jackson County Public Library, Outreach Director Skye will explore the beauty, joy, and diversity that native plants bring to your landscape. Whether you have a whole lawn you want to transform into a wildflower meadow or a simple windowsill basket, you can enjoy native plants and the wildlife that rely on them, including butterflies and hummingbirds. Attendees will learn why native plants are important and the benefits they provide to humans, wildlife, and the environment, plus a few recommended species to try in both gardens and containers. The program will end with a brief overview of our WNC Wildseed Library program, Mainspring’s volunteer-supported native seed library that provides free native seed packets within the Jackson County Public Library and Macon County Public Library.
No registration is required to attend. This program will occur in the Community Room of the Jackson County Public Library from 5:30pm-6:30pm on Tuesday, March 10th. More information about the WNC Wildseed Library program can be found on our website: https://www.mainspringconserves.org/wnc-wildseed-library/
