This hands-on workshop is for novice researchers to understand the basics of quantitative data, sampling and introductory statistics
About this Event

The techniques used to analyse quantitative data depend on the research designs you have used and the questions you want to have answered. Once your data has been collected, though, how do you go about deciding what analysis to use?

This workshop will provide a flowchart that will guide you towards the appropriate analysis to use and will use a few examples of research questions to demonstrate effective use of the flowchart.

The workshop will include examples of how to perform statistical analysis using SPSS for Windows and interpreting the output from that program.

Time will be provided towards the end of the session for the group to discuss practical issues around their own research questions and analyses.

Please arrive on time for this workshop, as it will commence at the advertised time.

A detailed map of the Baillie Henderson Hospital campus, showing direction of traffic, buildings and parking locations, is available here. Allow adequate time to find a car park, do not assume that a spot will be available in the closest car park. This workshop will be held in the downstairs training room in rush building (Building 5 on the map), which can be accessed on the southern side of the building at ground level.
