About this Event

The objectives of this workshop are to provide participants with a gentle introduction to the use of surveys for data collection in research, and to provide practice in the development of effective survey items. Participants will also be provided with an overview of some exploratory statistical methods that can be used to evaluate survey data.

By the end of the workshop participants will understand the fundamental concepts and principles of survey design, including the purpose of surveys and the types of data they can collect. Participants will also practice how to craft clear, concise, survey questions and to recognize common pitfalls in question wording and the design of survey layout.

You will need to bring a charged laptop to this workshop, and have a finalised research question.

Allow adequate time to find a car park, do not assume that a spot will be available in the closest car park. This workshop will be held in the downstairs training room in rush building (Building 5 on the map), which can be accessed on the southern side of the building at ground level.
