Location: Ymca Lytham, Mythop Road, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, FY8 4HB
Cost: £60: Includes a choice of light weight woven fabrics, waistband elastic & paper pattern.
Who is this suitable for: Over 16's- This course is perfect if you have sewn before or if you have attended the some beginners workshops & would like to extend your sewing skills further into dressmaking or have dressmaking experience & would like to try new patterns/styles/materials etc
What you'll Learn & Make: A great base workshop for beginners or returning dressmakers during the course you'll cover;
Measuring & sizings
laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric,
Cutting fabric
inside & outside leg seams
seams & seam finishes; pinking shears, overlocker or over cast
Making a casing for elastic
hems/hem finishes
The timings of this workshop should enable you to complete the garment within the session but each person will work at a different pace so please be aware you may have tasks to complete after the session finishes.
*pockets are not an option that can be sewn during this workshop.
