About this Event
Step into a cozy corner of creativity and discover the joy of making something with your own hands in this lively NYC crochet scarf series! This workshop is thoughtfully designed as a three-session learning experience, allowing you to build skills gradually while gaining confidence stitch by stitch.
- In Session 1, you’ll learn the foundations of crochet, including how to hold your hook and yarn, create a beginning loose knot, chain stitches, practice single crochet, count stitches, and manage tension for clean, even results.
- Session 2 focuses on practicing and mastering the half double crochet.
- Session 3 introduces the double crochet.
Students are encouraged to begin with Session 1 unless they already feel confident with the required skills. Enrollment in Sessions 2 and 3 is best suited for those who have learned the earlier techniques, though continuing independently between sessions is always welcome. For faster learners, additional stitches may be briefly introduced toward the end of each session as time allows.
This workshop is perfect for anyone curious about how to crochet or looking for unique things to do in NYC, whether you’re seeking a mindful solo escape, or a new hobby to enjoy with friends. All materials are provided, including high-quality yarn, a crochet hook, and a stitch counter.
By the end of the series, you’ll have the confidence to follow patterns independently and apply your skills to other crochet projects that spark your interest, opening the door to endless creative possibilities.
