About this Event
Skill Level: Beginner–Intermediate
Dive into the adorable Japanese art of amigurumi with our beginner-friendly workshop! In this fun, hands-on class, you will learn the essential skills needed to create your very own crocheted fruit companion, such as a cute apple or a cheerful orange. This workshop is designed specifically for those new to amigurumi, guiding you through every step of the process.
What You Will Learn:
- Crocheting in the Round & 3D: Master the fundamental techniques of crocheting in a continuous spiral to create three-dimensional shapes.
- Stuffing & Finishing: Learn the proper way to stuff your figure for the perfect squish and how to cleanly finish off your work for a professional look.
- Attaching Safety Eyes: Discover how to securely attach safety eyes, giving your fruity friend a safe and charming expression.
By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed, handcrafted amigurumi figure and the foundational skills to start your own crochet creature adventures! Class is best suited for students 13+, and parents are encouraged to take class with their children. This is an advanced beginner/intermediate crochet class. Students should be comfortable with the single crochet stitch, counting stitches, increasing and decreasing stitches.
