HappyPlace Productions announces auditions for our teen show Beetlejuice, Jr. on January 5 & 6, 2026 from 6pm – 9pm (you are only required to attend one night of auditions). Invited call backs are January 7, 2026, from 6pm-9pm. Auditions will take place at Elevate Church, callback location TBA. Rehearsals will be at Elevate Church. Performers ages 13-19 are welcome to audition.

Audition Information: Prepare 16-32 bars (1-2 minutes) of a musical theater song that best demonstrates your singing ability. Bring your sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. There will be a short dance taught at auditions; no prepared dance is required. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in. Come prepared to have your headshot taken the night you audition. There is a cast fee of $50 for those cast in the show.

Summary:
Beetlejuice Jr. is the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing spectre shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.
Cast of Characters:
Lydia Deetz - Whip-smart, grieving fifteen-year-old whose dark sense of humor helps her cope with the loss of her mother
Charles Deetz - Lydia’s father. He wants to help her get over the loss of her mother
Beetlejuice - The dead guy of the hour! He is zany, spooky and absolutely hilarious
Adam Maitland - Devoted husband of Barbara
Barbara Maitland - Wife of Adam. She is very kind, strong-willed and a quick thinker
Delia Schlimmer - Hopelessly optimistic. She considers herself a life coach
Maxie Dean - Business tycoon whom Charles hopes to impress
Miss Argentina - Former beauty queen, greets the recently dead in the Netherworld
Maxine Dean – Maxie’s current wife
Ortho - Delia’s guru and occasional exorcist
Juno - Beetlejuice’s mother, runs the recently dead intake and has no sympathy for anyone
Ensemble - Priest, The Recently Deceased, Mourners, Movers, Lawyers, Girl Scouts, Beetlejuice Clones, Cheerleaders, Sandworm, etc.
