All the good vibes ✨
This is a relaxed, party-pace social run with both a front and back runner, so no one gets left behind.
We’ve kept this event at cost price to make it accessible for everyone and to help reduce food waste at the end of the day.
Just a little note for our Sunday LSD runs: please make sure you're comfortable running at least part of the distance without needing to stop or walk. We regroup regularly throughout every run, and we'll always have both a front and back runner to keep everyone together.
As a guide:
10km route – Please be able to run 6km without walking.
15km route – Please be able to run 8km without walking.
20km route – Please be able to run 15km without walking.
Pace
As a guide, we aim for the front of the group to run at around 5:45/5:50 –6:15 min/km. That said, we'll always adapt to the group on the day. If everyone is moving a little slower, we'll slow it down we'd much rather be a little too slow than a little too fast.
These are Long Slow Distance (LSD) runs. The aim isn't to chase PBs or race each other. It's about building endurance, spending time on your feet, chatting with friends, and enjoying the Kms together. The vibes always come first.
Regrouping
We always walk the steeper hills. It's called being sensible! But we don't do "Fk You Breaks." That's when the front of the group stops at a regroup point and then sets off again as soon as the back runners arrive, meaning the back of the group never actually gets a chance to recover.
When we regroup, everyone gets a break. We wait until the whole group is together, give everyone a minute to catch their breath, have a drink if needed, and then we all head off together.
If you need to walk
If you pick up an injury during the run or you're having an off day and need to walk, that's absolutely okay. We just ask that everyone starts the run having chosen a distance they're comfortable running.
Please bring your phone 📱
For your own safety, please always bring a phone with you. If you pick up an injury, feel unwell, or need to leave the run for any reason, you'll be able to contact someone or arrange a taxi or your own way back if needed.
A quick reminder
LHG Run Club is run entirely by volunteers who generously give up their time every week to lead these runs. Please be mindful of this when choosing the route that's right for you.
We're a running club, and we welcome every running pace. Our goal is always to keep the group together and make sure everyone has a great morning. We simply ask that everyone is able to maintain a running pace for the route they've chosen.
Choose the route that suits you, look after each other, and let's enjoy some long, slow Kms together. 💛

See you there for beers, bagels, and good company!
