About this Event
Course Overview
This in-person Basic First Aid (formerly Emergency First Aid terminology commonly used in the industry) training provides essential life-saving skills to respond to medical emergencies in the workplace, home, or public settings.
This course is designed for individuals, employees, and workplace teams who require practical, hands-on first aid training and recognized certification.
Participants will learn how to recognize emergencies, provide immediate care, and stabilize a person until professional medical help arrives.
This training follows Canadian workplace first aid training expectations and is aligned with WSIB first aid program requirements and CSA Z1210:24 principles, where applicable.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Assess emergency scenes safely and effectively
Perform CPR (basic adult resuscitation skills)
Use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Respond to choking emergencies
Control bleeding and manage wounds
Recognize and respond to shock
Provide care for burns, fractures, and sprains
Support a casualty until emergency services arrive
Understand basic legal responsibilities of a first aider in Ontario

Certification
Upon successful completion of all required skills and full attendance, participants receive a:

- Certificate issued by the training provider upon successful completion
- Recognized by employers in accordance with Ontario workplace first aid expectations
- Meets training content aligned with Workplace Safety and Insurance Board First Aid Program requirements
- Structured in alignment with CSA Group Z1210:24 first aid training standards
No previous experience required. Certificate is valid for three years.
