Barn Owls in Indiana at 12:00 p.m.

· Registration available through February 5.*

· Free, but limited to 40 people (recommended for ages 12 and up).

· Paynetown State Recreation Area: Service Area (across from Deer Run Shelter)

* Walk-up attendees welcomed on a first-come first-served basis for any OPEN seats.

The population of Barn Owls has been impacted across the state by the loss of nesting habitat. Since the 1980s, the Indiana DNR has installed more than 300 nesting boxes in suitable Barn Owl habitat, offering alternative nesting sites. During this 30-min presentation, Grace LeCuyer, the Indiana DNR's Raptor Survey Coordinator, will discuss the results of the 2022 statewide Barn Owl nest box surveys – and share fun facts about these amazing raptors.
