Urban Sketching with Kirsten Lee
Discover the joy of urban sketching in this fun, beginner-friendly class! Learn to capture a city’s bustling character by breaking dynamic scenes into simple shapes and values.
What you’ll learn:
How to choose a compelling subject
How to create a lively sketch using perspective, proportion, and composition
How the class works:
In the gallery: Meet your materials and learn (or review) the basic artistic elements behind a successful sketch.
Out in town: Put your new skills to work sketching on location in Charles Town.
Beginners and repeat students are welcome! Every artist receives individualized instruction from Kirsten Lee, a local favorite loved for her fun-filled, insightful approach.
This class is free, thanks to generous sponsorship grants from City National Bank and the Jefferson County Angel Fund.
Pre-registration is required. Only 10 tickets are available!
Please Only Reserve a Spot If You Can Make It
This class is free and the seats are limited, so every spot matters. Attendance is also very important for grant-funded events like this one, and an empty seat means someone else missed out.
If your plans change, please let us know! Leave a voicemail at the Firehouse Gallery at (304) 724-2090 or email [email protected], and we’ll cancel your ticket and offer your spot to another artist who is excited to attend.
Class sold out? Email us at [email protected] and we’ll let you know if a spot opens up.
Thank you for helping us keep this program free and available to our community!
