About Sanjana

Sanjana has been an active member of Pilgrimage of the Heart and a student of Sri Chinmoy since 2021. After spending six months attending women’s song circles to overcome her fear of singing in public, she was inspired to create her own song circles in 2022, inspiring other women to find their voices. Since then, she has been invited to sing and lead meditation events at various yoga studios across San Diego.

Sanjana is passionate about sharing the wisdom of Indian spiritual philosophy and creating safe spaces for women where singing becomes a path to inner transformation, self-expression, and community.

What is the inspiration behind the event?

Sanjana worked through her fear of singing by attending a women's song circle every week for six months in 2022. She is passionate about gathering women together to sing and share their hearts. Sri Chinmoy, Sanjana's spiritual teacher, believed that music is the next best thing to meditation, as it allows us to experience oneness and peace within our hearts.

Why is this event free?

During his life, Sri Chinmoy held over 700 free peace concerts around the world for over 1 million people. All of his meditation and music offerings were free of charge. He inspired his students to offer music to their community at no charge.

Sanjana is deeply inspired by his teaching and the songs he has written. She is excited to bring women together to sing and find community!
