What is Grid painting ? it is creating art within shapes that form a grid. The masking tape stops the paint from touching the background paper leaving nice clean shapes when it is removed. It is a fun way to experiment with paint and stencils . It is an exercise that every creative should allow themselves to have fun with.
I love working on all of the boxes at once ...splashing paint around like it's going out of fashion. individually each square turns out so different but they still come together in a cohesive way , like a tint collection of art.
I love to work with bright colours at the moment. This could be because the winter months are so dark and gloomy.
Adding black and white images on top of the bright paint creates such a beautiful contrast.
The group will be asked to think about what colours they are drawn to use and why....then find a quote that fits that theme.
