Join us for our April in-person meeting with guest quilter Gunnel Hag. In this lecture, Gunnel Hag will show us how to print on fabric using “found objects” from A (for Apple) to Z (for Zipper). While screen printing was her first and enduring love, she also loves using ordinary objects to create patterns. So far she must have a collection of 30+ different potato mashers, which she uses to create an infinite variety of patterns and textures. The sole of a pair of winter boots, a golf ball, hair curlers, irons, credit cards – and of course potato mashers – no textured thing is safe from experimenting! Enjoy the experience and learn how these everyday objects can become the basis for colourful fabrics to use in your quilts! Gunnel will also be bringing with her some quilts to show us.
About Gunnel:
