About this Event
Paint Like Hundertwasser
Adult Art Workshop
📍 Newmarket Public Library – 2nd Floor, Story Room
Step into the vibrant, unconventional world of Friedensreich Hundertwasser—an artist who rejected straight lines, embraced nature, and believed that creativity should be free, playful, and deeply personal.
Hundertwasser saw buildings as living organisms, loved irregular shapes, and often said that “the straight line is godless.” His art is full of spirals, flowing forms, bold colours, and a strong connection to the environment. In this workshop, you’ll explore his philosophy and discover how to bring more freedom and imagination into your own work.
Led by professional artist Kate Medvedok, this session offers a relaxed and supportive atmosphere with a small group (up to 12 participants), allowing for individual guidance.
What You’ll Explore & Create
• Fascinating insights into Hundertwasser’s life, ideas, and artistic vision
• His signature elements: spirals, organic shapes, layered colour, and architectural inspiration
• Step-by-step guidance combined with creative freedom
• Your own expressive artwork inspired by nature and individuality
All materials are provided, including acrylic paints, brushes, and your choice of canvas or paper.
No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
